That's right.
Guild Wars 2 finally launched officially today. As a pre-purchase participant, I got to play 3 days earlier already. Right now I'm at a Lan party with my guild celebrating release, living off caffeine and not sleeping for 4 days straight. Hell yeah!
The game itself is more than I ever hoped for. It is literally the MMORPG. A lot of MMORPGs in the past few years turned out to be more or less of a disappointment, from Aion to Rift to SW:ToR. Finally, there is a new player in the MMO neighborhood again who does things right, who does things they way they're supposed to be done. This game takes pretty much everything that's great about other MMOs (from great, involving PvE to personalized storylines, to tournament-style, completely skill-based arena PvP, to gigantic server-vs-server PvP warzones) while mercilessly eradicating everything that sucks about other MMOs (including but not limited to killstealing, ninjalooting, griefing, ganking, grinding, gear treadmill and the "holy trinity"). Words seriously can't describe how awesome this game is.
There is at least one MMO developer on the market that still holds to everything they promise, and that developer is ArenaNet.
The time of Blizzard is over, I think. They failed hard with Diablo 3, they will fail hard with MoP and I think no matter how much Titan is going to be hyped, it will fail as well.
Anyway, should any of you be interested in hitting me up ingame, I can currently be found on Kodash[DE], by the Account name Shyanmar.5936 or the character names Varnakh Bloodfur (Charr/Warrior), Shyanna De Askarth (Human/Elementalist) and Snorri Gûthredsson (Norn/Guardian), among others.

Guild Wars 2 beta weekend (+ stream)

I'm currently playing Guild Wars 2 together with my guild at this weekend's beta event. The start yesterday was a little tough because of frequent server issues, disconnects and lags, but as of today, it mostly works just fine. The game itself is more than incredible, of course.
If you're not in the beta and are interested in watching some gameplay and are not bothered by people speaking german, we do have a livestream online just about 24/7, which you can find here: tiefe-design.de/dexxyn/
(Yep, I designed the page ^^).
Anyway. I'll be back when the event is over, and I do not plan to sleep any time soon (I've been awake since yesterday morning, all hail the mighty caffeine god!)

Eh. Just a quick note, to whomever it may concern: I now have my own livestream.com channel.
Mostly for gaming purposes, as my guild and I will stream quite a lot (if we ever get into the Guild Wars 2 beta events, which are hopefully due in a few months at most, you'll see quite a bit of these, I assure you ^^).
However, I also tested it with photoshop already and it works fine as long as I don't go to sizes above 5000x5000. So I'll be streaming some painting too, once in a while. Like now, for example.
If you care to watch, I advise you to mute the audio, I'm usually on our teamspeak server and a guildmate of mine is learning to play tin whistle right now xD (I do play my pipes on the air sometimes, too ... )

BAGPIPE!! Woohoo!

Just thought I'd drop that here quickly.
I just got my new bagpipe in the mail an hour ago. It's a german "Hümmelchen" (a small bagpipe type, good for beginners since it's relatively easy to play) with 2 drones.
My first tries on that baby are still ... um ... let's say, below optimum, since it's hard in the beginning to hold the pressure constant (plus, I clearly need to expand my lung volume, this thing has me out of breath rather quickly ... ah well, finally a reason to do more sports again), and I'm not really used to the chanter yet, but I'll get there sooner or later ^^
It's awesome anyway.
Also, the new Eluveitie album will release next week. Were it not for the exams I'd be pretty much completely happyy right now.
